Out of necessity, the doctor must work by appointment. When you call for an appointment, every effort is made to accommodate your request for date and time. Unfortunately, patients do not become ill on schedule. A sincere attempt is made to adhere to the office schedule as much as possible. Consultation appointments are available if you prefer to discuss treatment options or financial arrangements prior to treatment. Consultation appointments however are not required in most cases. Prior to your seeing the doctor, the receptionist or x-ray person will usher you into the x-ray room and make you feel comfortable. Questions will then be asked about your past medical history and details about your present illness. Give some thought to your medical history beforehand. We encourage patients to bring current x-rays from their dentist. In certain cases additional x-rays may be indicated. The doctor will discuss your x-rays with you. If you desire general anesthesia, you cannot have anything to eat or drink including water at least six hours prior to your appointment and a responsible adult must accompany you and remain in the building. Your doctor will then examine you to determine the nature of your problem. After your visit is completed, the receptionist will give you a return appointment when needed. After hours when the office is not open, your phone call will be answered by a voice mail box system with prompts to direct your call regarding appointments, billing and insurance. If you have an after-hours emergency and are a recent patient of record, you will be instructed to call our answering service which will be able to contact a doctor for an emergency. One of our doctors is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sometimes problems do arise with the answering service forwarding a message so please call back if your call is not answered.
